Garmin Varia RTL515. Cyclings Safest Accessory

When it comes to cycling, safety is on everyones mind. Although we have the ability to act on anything that is in front of us, we can’t see what’s coming from behind us. The Garmin Varia RTL515 is a rear light and radar detection all in one, and will do just that. It connects with your head unit and gives you the heads up on any traffic coming from behind.  The radar will pick up any vehicle travelling quicker or slower than you up to 140m behind and has the ability to show up to 8...

April News It felt like just yesterday, Santa was coming down the chimney and the weather was warm. It's crazy to think it's now the end of April. A month full of bike riding, bike racing, and a confused weather system. Some tired cyclists in the workplace.Following two weekends of consecutive racing, it's sure to say there's a few sleepy riders and supporters this far into the working week.  K2 last weekend made for a damp lap of the coromandel. It's only water right?&...

An impressive day for Spoken Coaching

Sunday 15th July saw the Te Awamutu Cycling Club running of the Schwartfegger, Glass and Messenger Cup Handicap Race around the Puahue School Circuit. Handicap racing for those that don’t know is like a seeded start with your slower riders starting first and your fastest starting last. It's first across the line so the slowest riders have a great chance if they can work well together and make a go of it.This year the conditions were terrible for racing, with wind and rain which suits the strong...

Hamilton Open WIN

Sunday saw the running of the Hamilton Windscreens Hamilton Open held at Goodwood School around our very own stomping ground out the back of Cambridge. Fields were strong across all grades this year with some good prize money up for grabs which always helps pull a few out on their bikes. The course was rolling to hilly and in many grades became a select bunch by the end of the race, pair that with the warmer weather, it made for a great day of riding. The Spoken Cycles kit was out in force with ...
